Climb aboard the open-air Trolley and buckle up for a rolling tribute to the most legendary highway in America. In 2026, Route 66 turns 100, and this centennial celebration puts the Mother Road front and center in a way you will not find anywhere else in Albuquerque.

This fully narrated, multimedia experience is designed as a love letter to Route 66. From the glow of neon to the hum of vintage motor courts, you will trace the path that shaped the Duke City’s identity and helped define the American road trip. Albuquerque is one of the longest continuous urban stretches of Route 66 in the country, and in this milestone year, we are diving deep into its stories, its architecture, and its larger than life characters.

Cruise historic Central Avenue, where the spirit of the open road still flickers in every sign and storefront. From the vintage charm of Nob Hill to the legendary Crossroads of Route 66 in Downtown Albuquerque, you’ll roll past iconic landmarks like the historic KiMo Theatre, El Vado Motel and 66 Diner, where the spirit of the open road is alive and well.

The Best of ABQ City Tour will ignite your senses as you explore the city’s vibrant culture, iconic landmarks, and hidden gems. Savor the flavors of New Mexico as you uncover the delicious secrets of red and green chile, feel the thundering roar of the University of New Mexico Lobos, and discover locations from legendary films and TV shows like Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul.

You’ll also see a beach in the middle of the desert, marvel at a castle where you’d least expect it, and explore the city’s top attractions, including Old Town Plaza, Museum Row, the National Hispanic Cultural Center, ABQ BioPark, the Rail Yards, the University of New Mexico, sports stadiums, and much more! Get ready for a journey packed with history, pop culture, and local flavor. This is the ultimate way to experience the Duke City!

Join us as we celebrate the Route 66 Centennial and experience Albuquerque the way it was meant to be seen: from the open road.
